As a founding Member and Principal of Dominion Hospitality Group, Steve brings to the team over 20 years of hospitality experience holding various positions within the industry. Steve started as a room service waiter for the Hyatt House in Richmond and worked his way up through the ranks to become General Manager and Operations Manager for several well-known local Hotel companies such as Shamin Hotels and Briggs Hospitality in Richmond. Steve has regional and national experience working for companies such as Days Inn Corporation, Sheraton, and Extended Stay America.

Over the years Steve has gained a strong footing in the Sales end of the business and knows how to implement and manage Revenues on a daily, monthly and annual basis as well as go out and procure new group contract business for any asset for which he is responsible.

In 2014, as General Manager and principal in the Best Western Savannah Gateway, he and Short provided their investors with a 60% Return on Equity per annum on this value-add transaction. Steve successfully oversaw the entire operation of this 120-room hotel and was responsible for driving revenues and managing the bottom line in every category.

Over the years Steve has performed full-scale renovations, and numerous PIP completions and has a firm understanding of what is needed to run every department and deal with most employee-related issues in both full and select-service hotels.

His specialties include executive management, P&L management, re-engineering operations, forecasting and budgeting, joint venture structuring, cross-functional team building, and team management and training.

At DHG Steve will oversee Revenue Management/Sales and generally perform any task needed to assist in enhancing each asset’s Net Operating Income from an operational standpoint.

Steve has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and resides in Richmond, VA.
